Grammy Fashion: Stars React to CBS-Imposed Dress Code

Last night's (Feb. 10) Grammy Awards showed music's biggest artists dressed to the nines! Glittering gowns, sexy cutouts and even a light-up dress -- nothing was off limits. Well, nothing except over-exposure!

Last week, CBS released a memo asking the stars to cover up during the ceremony, requesting, that "buttocks and female breasts are adequately covered."

Surprisingly, Pussycat Dolls singer Nicole Scherzinger, who has been known to flaunt her assets on the red carpet, supported the wardrobe lockdown!

"I like that they're doing that," Nicole told the Associated Press. "I don't see any problem with it because [at the rate it's going] eventually everyone is going to be coming in bikinis and showing nothing but skin... Women can be beautiful and sexy without having to show everything. Keep it sassy, but classy!"

While most stars followed the dress code, a few singers, including Jennifer Lopez, Katy Perry and Kelly Rowland, dared to bare a lot of skin.

J.Lo, who channeled her inner Angelina Jolie, wore a black gown split to her thigh. The "Dance Again" singer pled innocent, telling red carpet reporters, "They didn't say anything about leg! I thought I was being such a good girl. Did you read this memo? It mentioned things that I don't say around my house or my children. It's crazy."

Destiny's Child member Kelly Rowland also took the memo lightly, rocking a tight gown with sheer panels.

"It's so funny!" Kelly said. "I thought about the dress code and thought about it again, and that's about it. I respect. See, I wore clothes!"

CBS Standards and Practices sent guests and presenters a detailed email, obtained by Deadline.com, outlining in excruciating detail as to what must be covered, including "bare fleshy under curves of the buttocks and buttock crack" and "[b]are sides or under curvature of the breasts."

There was also a ban on "sheer see-through clothing that could possibly expose female breast nipples."

The stars, however, didn’t seem to pay the new rules any mind. Katy was busting out of a body-hugging mint green gown with a perfectly placed cleavage-baring cutout, while Rihanna hit the red carpet bra-less in a racy red dress. Kelly Rowland left little to the imagination in a full-length black Pucci gown made of sheer paneling and little else.

Other head-turners included Beyoncé in a skintight black and white getup, and Jennifer Lopez in a black gown perfect for leg bombing.
